Island style

A few Sundays ago, we went to see an island near Incheon. I was pleasantly surprised, since I'm used to the west seas being muddy and not much to look at. It was really lovely. We found an awesome little secluded beach (with a rather weird sculpture park), and although it was a little too chilly to swim, Stella had much fun playing on the beach.

Can't wait for more beach days this summer!

Ferry ride to the island.

Stella loved hanging over the edge of the ferry and watching the seagulls hang about.

Port Alfred

Before the special wedding, we spent a few days in Port Alfred. We stayed at the awesome Bretton Bay cottages, managed to do a bit around PA (despite being busy with wedding stuff), and enjoyed the beach in some lovely weather.

Cousins hanging out (girls in t heir skirts from Faye).
We did a little cruise on the Marina. A must if you visit Port Alfred!

Stunning views.

Outside The Wharf brewery, enjoying the sunset.

Inside The Wharf, enjoying a beer!

Pretty sunset.
Best of all, of course, was the beach! Even though it was already a chilly Autumn, we had some good weather, and the kids had a great time on the beach. We had an amazing beach right on our doorstep, complete with the best rock pools ever!

So much to discover in these pools!

A special wedding

The best decision we made was to stay in South Africa for Sean and Megz's wedding in April. Not only did we get to spend a few days with the Wild Cats at a beautiful beach in Port Alfred, but the wedding was fantastic - a fairytale, dream-come-true for Megz, no doubt.

Here are some highlights from the day...

The bride - stunningly beautiful!

Another beautiful sister - Kel.

Getting these ducks in a row was not easy!

My old res and dining hall - Allan Webb Hall, in the background.

Sean's family.

The bridesmaids.
We set off some white balloons for Mom and Dad, who were not there, but were surely looking down on us all!

I love this photo just for the colours in it! On the right of Megz is her make-up artist.

The picturesque wedding venue.

The jazz band added a special touch to the atmosphere - loved it!

As if out of a Victorian novel :)

Emma - angel child.

Having Annphia and Brian there was brilliant - love you guys!

The happy couple.
The kids took over the dance floor for at least the first half of the night!

Most appropriate wedding cake ;)
